“Who is he?”

“Kurt Hummel. He’s been pulling double shifts to pay for his father’s hospital bills.”

“Oh?” Blaine took a long, contemplative pull from his cigar. It made sense. The boy singing on stage had a voice so sweet and sad, Blaine drank it down the melody like a cold, smooth brandy.

Blaine set down his hat, watching him perform. He had delicate hands, and wide, innocent eyes. Pained, but innocent. He had never harmed a soul in his life. Really, Blaine couldn’t have spotted a worse individual to recruit for his line of business. But he was beautiful, his precarious situation was simply perfect. And if you owned the city, such as Blaine Anderson did, nobody was too far out of grasp.

Kurt’s eyes slid across the room as he continued his slow, mellow ballad. As they did, Blaine locked onto them, snaring him with that intensity that had brought entire syndications to his knees. Kurt gulped on a rest, and with some difficulty, managed at last to look away. A bead of sweat rolled down his neck that might not have had anything to do with his fatigue and the heat of the lights.

“Bring him here, when he’s done.” Blaine instructed, putting out his cigar. “I’ll speak with him.”

“Do you know who I am, Hummel?”

Blaine leaned back, a king on his throne. The men in the suits who accompanied Blaine pulled the curtains of his private lounge shut, sealing the two in.

“I do.” Kurt’s tongue felt thick in his mouth, but somehow he got the words out without a stutter.

“Then you know what a position you have put yourself in. You know that your father will die unless he gets a heart, and he won’t get that unless he loses a son.”

Kurt flinched, but he didn’t run. The doctors, his family, his friends. They all told him that it was hopeless. As frightened as he was… Blaine Anderson was the first to tell Kurt that there was a way to save his father from death.

“You’re useless to me as a henchman. I can see it clear in your eyes… but you can be useful to me in another way.”

He laughed aloud at the confusion that settled over Kurt. He had no idea, did he? The value his body possessed. The potential. Blaine was hard already just thinking about it.

“Wes, David.” Blaine waved his hand to the two bodyguards, and they slipped out to give them some privacy. He motioned for Kurt to come forward, pulling him in by the tie.

“Now, I want you to kiss me.” He ordered harshly.

“W-what?”

“Feel free to refuse. Don’t be confused, you are not my slave. This is strictly business. But a human heart is expensive, especially in the time I have to procure it.” Blaine’s breath was warm on Kurt’s lips, he could almost taste that expensive scotch that cost more than Kurt’s salary.

“Now…” He breathed. “For your father. If you will.”

Blaine could measure the moment when Kurt’s will broke. The flutter of eyelashes, the last gasp of desperation leaving him. Like biting a bullet, he leaned forward, pressing his lips against Blaine’s, letting him in turn ravage his mouth with a hurried tongue. Blaine pulled him forward again, harshly enough that Kurt’s knees buckled and he landed between the legs of the crime lord. He gasped aloud as he felt him, hot and hard, straining against the cloth of his pants.

It was the first time Kurt had ever been so close to a man.

It was his first kiss.

“Come now. You’ll have to do better.” Blaine laughed, pulling away from the jazz singer. “If you want to be mine, you’ll have to convince me you’re worth it.” Kurt didn’t break down, but instead determination surged through him. He pressed forward, causing Blaine to groan as his hand slid up Blaine’s thigh, his waist creating sweet friction against his clothed erection. Kurt grasped Blaine’s tie in turn now, leaning tantalizingly forward, pausing just a moment. That was all it took for Blaine to reveal his hot desire. Yes, he wanted Kurt.

When they kissed again, rough hands grabbed him and pulled him in, deeper and faster into Blaine Anderson’s dark world.
